The Market

Morton, located in east Lewis County, is at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, nestled between Mt. Rainer, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. U.S. Highway 12, a major all-season, east-west route, provides the area tourist industry with hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to enjoy fishing, camping, hunting, rock climbing and world-class skiing at White Pass. Timber manufacturing, govermental and public entities such as the U.S. Forest Service, four school districts and a hospital district make up a very stable employment base and provide an excellent payroll for this professional, yet ruggedly individual region.
